Good-bye July, August, September — October AND November

To say that I’ve fallen behind on my 3-month recap post is quite the understatement. I remember when October rolled around, I wrote the post in my head while travelling to work (I was without a pen) and I willed myself to remember to write it all down when I arrived, which of course, never did happen. But since these posts are among my favourite (and apparently they’re yours too) and because doing a 5-month seems less overwhelming than a 6-month recap, I’ll sum up the last 5 months now and give December its own little spotlight at the end of the month, ya? If I had to sum up the travelling theme of the last 5 months, it would have to be fruition (which is currently my favourite word). It seems like all of the things that I’ve been working so hard at carefully piecing together are finally starting to come to fruition. It’s funny though, when at the beginning of any journey, the end always seems so distant and far-fetched to us linear, impatient humans, …

Good-bye April, May and June

I’m usually on top of my 3-month recap posts (see all of them here)– but the last few weeks have been super busy for me! Thank God I call the shots around here, eh? So without further ado… I can hardly believe that April, May and June are long gone!! The last three months looked something like this: I drank a lot of coffee, read in the sunshine, worked on my lady pipes at the gym, chilled with friends, volunteered a bunch at Story Planet,  gorged on fabulous food and peddle around the city from sunup to sundown. It was absolutely GLORIOUS. A couple of things come to mind when I reflect back on the last three months: I spent a lot of time in my backyard gardening, I was bitten on a date (I’m still laughing about it) and I started a new job! How about you? Did the last few months treat you well? Here is what I captured on my iPhone. S. PS: I have a bunch of your emails to respond to — I  promise to get to …

Good-bye January, February and March

The first three months of 2013 are now officially over! I am so very grateful because the Winter, for me at least, seemed to drag on and on and on. In January, I started freelancing from home which has given me the breathing space needed to do some introspective work and get my inner compass working in overdrive while I sit comfortably in my pyjamas – What do I want to do? Where am I going? During the month of February, I went on a wild comedic dating spree – I once spent 2-hours with a man whose accent was so strong, I didn’t understand a word he said! That doozy of a date litterally needed subtitles. HA HA. In March, I abandoned my life in the city and packed up my bags to visit my family in my hometown of Sarnia, ON. Where all we did was eat, nap and talk about food – it was both indulgent and refreshing. How about you? Did the last few months treat you well? Here is what I captured on my …

Good-bye October, November AND December.

Well folks, 2012 is over and if I can be completely honest, it was the longest and hardest year of my life. I have learned so much about myself that it’s downright shocking — and you know, because I blogged all about it! Although I’m proud to say that I did more than I ever thought I could do solo, 2012 came with its fair share of tumultuous tribulations that knocked me to the ground more than once. I’ve spent much of the last three months writing and running my butt off, but three big events stick out in my mind. I celebrated the big 3-0 back in October, said good-bye to my longtime pal, Oz in November and adopted a precious kitten named Noah in December. Did the last few months treat you well? What was the highlight of your year? Below is what I captured on my iPhone during the last three months. If you’ve just joined, you can see the recap of 2012 here. I don’t know about you, but I’m so very ready for a fresh start! 2013 is gonna be a …

Good-bye July, August AND September.

The last three months have gone by like a flash! I know I always say, “I’m soooo busy”, but these last few months have been jam-packed with big life events for me, including moving and scoring some pretty awesome freelance work. I keep going back to those lonely 3.5 months that I spent slumbering away in bed with mono (I read something like 17 books) willing my poor little kidneys to hurry up and heal because I had things to do, people to see.  Now that I’ve become such a busy little lady, I kinda wish I could transport myself back to my sleeping beauty days, even for just a couple of hours. These days if I’m not writing for work, I’m freelancing, blogging, or working on side projects. And when I’m not busy writing, I’m training for races and working on not being such a lazy long distance runner. Ugh, Ice baths. How was your summer? Do you have any crazy stories to share with me? Here is what I captured on my iPhone during …

Good-bye May & June

The last two months have been crazy busy for me! A lot has gone on in my little life. May and June went by so fast! I finished up my school course, saw some fabulous summer concerts, decided to move out of my apartment, started freelancing, went to a wedding, took a road trip to see Radiohead in Detroit, and so much more!! Did May and June treat you well? Do you have any crazy stories to share with me? Here is what I captured on my iPhone during the last two months:

Good-bye April

Overall, April was a good month! I returned back to work after being sick for 3 long months, ate a lot of pho, read a ton of books and finally found the energy to get out and about with friends. Did April treat you well? Did anything exciting happen to you? Here’s what I captured on my iPhone during the month of April:
